Tipp Taskforce Determined To Carry On Following Town Funding Setback

The Tipperary Town Task force will not let the disappointment of securing no funding for the town deter it from it’s work.

It follows the lack of funding approval for their project submitted under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.

Last week Minister Heather Humphreys announced funding of 21.5 million for 27 projects, with Nenagh being the only town in the county to get funding.

The project featuring Dan Breen House, The Canon Hayes Recreation Centre and a project at the Racecourse  was submitted by Tipperary County Council last July along with two other projects for County Tipperary –  one in Nenagh and one in Holycross.

Task Force Chairperson Carmel Fox says the feedback on this application will be examined and a future funding application will be made.

The Taskforce is expected to publish its full Strategy and Action plan in March.
