The local authority is to meet this week to consider a proposal for a new 25 year lease on a public park to a local group in Co. Tipperary.
The Loughtagalla Park and Residential Association in Thurles have lodged a request for a lease on the existing Public Park in their area.
The residents group have plans already approved by the planning authority for an enhancement of the park to include a Biodiversity Play Park, a walkway, a sensory garden, various seating areas, a new entrance plaza, tree planting, and a new car park.
The council executive states that the enhanced area would be a significant asset and recommends that Section 183 resolution is passed approving the 25 year lease agreement to Loughtagalla Park and Residential Association with the rent set at €100 per year.
