Planning Lodged To Convert Derelict Building Into Apartments In Tipp Town

A derelict building in Tipperary Town could soon get a new lease of life and be converted into assisted living elderly care facility if given the green light.

An application to develop the former Supervalu Site in Tipperary Town has been lodged with Tipperary County Council.

The applicant is Thor Hammer Limited a company established in December 2019 with a registered office address in Swords, County Dublin.

The development will consist of 45 self-contained apartments each with kitchen/dining/living, bedroom, bathroom and a balcony. 

A courtyard garden, landscaping in general including new semi mature trees to all relevant boundaries is also proposed for the site Provision of on-site carparking and bicycle parking is included and permission is requested to demolish and remove the existing unused Supermarket attached to the rear of 42 Bank Place Building.

Works will include restoring the rear of this building to its original form.

The application is listed on the council e-planning portal and is at the prevalidation phase of consideration.

As of today there are no detailed files  available to view. Submissions can be made until Feb 3rd and a decision on the application is due on Feb 24th.
