University of Limerick Hospital Group has responded to a query from Tipp Mid West Radio regarding the availability of specialist staff to provide post mortem services between Dec 21st and Dec 29th.
In a statement issued to TMWR today the hospital group states
“We can confirm that coroners post-mortems will continue to be carried out at University Hospital Limerick as required over the holiday period. Issues in relation to staff leave have now been addressed. We regret any distress this matter has caused to bereaved families and we would like to reassure them that this matter has now been resolved.”
The matter had been publicised by Tipperary TDs Alan Kelly and Jackie Cahill
