Footfall Survey To Be Undertaken In Tipperary Town This Weekend

A footfall survey in Tipperary Town Centre will be completed on Friday and Saturday.

Cllr Annemarie Ryan is working with Community groups Light Up The Plan, Tipperary Town Tidy towns and are teaming up with Tipp town Task Force and the Heritage Council to carry out a footfall survey in the town centre.  This is one of the steps in the Collaborative Town Centre Health Check.

The Data collected will provide a baseline of footfall in the town centre and enable Tipperary town to compare its results to other town centres in the programme. Volunteers will be positioned at eight areas throughout the town centre and they will measure footfall at designated times of the day on Friday and Saturday.  The volunteers will be monitoring the numbers of people present at key times and also the locations where pedestrians choose to cross the street.  The volunteers will not be engaging with the public directly  – merely recording the numbers present.

The results will be published as soon as possible. Covid restrictions had delayed the completion of this step in the CTCHC.
