Man Formally Detained In Connection With Fatal Shooting Conor O’Brien In Carlow

Gardaí have confirmed that the man arrested in Carlow on Tuesday evening for possession of a handgun continues to be detained at Carlow Garda Station.   

This man is now formally detained for offences connected with the fatal shooting of  Conor O’Brien in Enfield on the evening of Thursday 26th August 2021.

Mr O’Brien’s body was found on Friday morning last with a fatal gunshot would outside a residence in Enfield County Meath. Conor O’ Brien, was 19 years old and originally from Gorey, Co. Wexford. He has been residing in Enfield for a number of months in a self-contained apartment at the rear of the main residence, owned by a family relative.

A family liaison officer has been appointed to the O’ Brien family and An Garda Síochána appeals for privacy for the family at this time.
