Councillor Tony Black has commented on recent incidents of illegal dumping in Tipperary Town – especially the Plan area on the Limerick Road.

The Sinn Féin Councillor has condemned the illegal dumping that has taken place in The Plan on Redmond Square in Tipperary Town recently. He described it as a disgrace and a slap in the face to all those who work so hard to keep the Plan so neat and tidy. Bags of rubbish were discarded beside one of the bins in the park and Cllr. Black says it isn’t the first time.

“There has been a marked increase in dumping especially since lockdowns began. The Plan has experienced it on a number of occasions as have many other areas recently, including the Hills, the upgraded Mass Path and many more areas. It is local people and community volunteers who clean up after those who dump and litter”.

The Councillor said there is no excuse for not having a bin service at home or alternatively people can bring their rubbish to the recycling centre in Donohill.

“This type of behaviour is unacceptable and the people of the west end of Tipperary Town and of the entire area deserve far better than this” concluded Cllr. Black.
