Exciting Training Course Announced For Tipperary Town

A Pre-Apprenticeship course for Tipperary Town is scheduled to commence on September 27th in the Rossmore Village Centre at Hennessy House. The course is 28 weeks in duration and includes 20 days of work placement – one day per week to provide learners with a taste of each trade.  Application details are available on the Fetchcourse.ie website at this link .

FRS will be running the course on behalf of the Education and Training Board  and it will cover the following areas:

Painting, Wall & Floor Tiling, Plastering,  Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing,  Electrical, Bricklaying and Groundworks. This course will also include training in: Safepass,  Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels.  No previous knowledge or experience is required and the aim is to give the learner an introduction to the variety of construction trades, to gain skills in those areas and perhaps to decide which trade is the right one to pursue a career in. 

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be over 16 years of age with good literacy and numerical skills.

On completion of this award learners may progress into employment in the Construction sector or into an Apprenticeship of their choice.
