Members of Tipperary South branch of The Irish Wheelchair Association, located at Brodeen, Tipperary Town were celebrating this week as 47 of its members received their first Covid-19 Vaccination at the centre yesterday.

In a Social Media post, Josephine Carroll, Service Coordinator at IWA, said: “an air of celebration was palpable […] as the Astra Zeneca vaccine was distributed […] Our team are delighted & proud that this has brought us a step closer to returning to normality!”

This is great news for the association, as the Government had been lobbied in recent months for the provision of Vaccines for people with physical disabilities, who should be considered high-risk for Covid infection.
