As part of a Freedom of Information request from Tipp Mid-West Radio, Tipperary County Council have confirmed that temporary CCTV cameras were installed at the recycling area at Tesco, Limerick Road, Tipperary Town, between January 2020 and November 2020 (March and April 2020 were not operated, due to Covid-19 restrictions).
They also confirmed that 97 fines for illegal littering/dumping were issued for offenses at the site in that period. This information comes as the recycling area has twice been indicated as a litter black-spot in both Round 1 and Round 2 of the IBAL Anti-Litter League reports (published in 2020 and 2021 respectively).
