Windy weather forecast, alerts for coastal counties

Three weather alerts have been put in place by Met Eireann as the country can expect unseasonably windy weather over the next day or so.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning has been issued for counties Clare and Kerry.  It advises of winds with mean speeds of 50 to 65 kph with gusts of 90 to 110 kph, mainly in coastal areas and on exposed hills and mountains.  The warning applies from 7 o’clock this evening until 5pm tomorrow.

A similar warning is in place for Galway and Mayo, valid for 24 hours from 9pm, while a Yellow Alert will also apply to Donegal and Sligo from 6am until 9pm tomorrow.
