The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has been informed that ten people with Covid-19 have died.
1,497 deaths have now been recorded in Ireland to-date.
159 new cases have also been confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 23,401.
‘84% of those diagnosed with Covid-19 have recovered’
Dr Ronan Glynn, who is the Deputy Chief Medical Officer with the Department of Health said this evening that 84% of those diagnosed with Covid-19 have recovered.
He has also revealed that of 15,450 cases, where information is available, 53% had at least one underlying condition.
The most common underlying condition reported is chronic heart disease (at 15%), followed by chronic respiratory disease (11%) and diabetes (6%).
