€100,000 in funding for the Tipperary Town Taskforce is due to be confirmed this week.

According to Senator Garret Ahearn, the payment will come from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government and will be available to the task force through the country council, to be drawn down as needed.

‘a suite of actions to support the revitalisation of Tipperary town’

He said the money will assist with funding ‘a suite of actions to support the revitalisation of Tipperary town’ and to assist the county council with the recruitment of a full-time project manager, who will work on developing agreed actions and funding proposals on foot of the finalised Tipperary Town Health Check.

He told Tipp Mid West that it is important to secure the funding now, given the implications that financing the battle against the spread of Covid-19 may have in the future.

Minister Eoghan Murphy is due to confirm the funding this week.
