Tipperary County Council is appealing to the public not to spoil the outside spaces we have limited access to at present.
The council has pointed out that given that people are requested to confine their exercise routine to within 2km of their home, it is important that our routes are not strewn with rubbish.
Even discarded plastic gloves and empty hand sanitiser bottles are now being seen on streets, at roadsides or discarded in ditches.
Therefore, the council is asking people to ensure they dispose of any such items in their rubbish bin at home or at the nearest street bin.
Dog owners are also being reminded to clean up after their dogs when taking them out walking.
And even though people’s activity has lessened in recent times, the council has continued to encounter illegal dumping in the countryside.
The local authority wishes to remind people (including those doing some spring cleaning at the moment) that civic amenity sites across the county are open and will accept a wide range of items, some items are free of charge.
