Innovative St Ailbe’s make visors for healthcare workers

1214

St Ailbe’s School in Tipperary town has manufactured and donated 120 test visors for use by front line healthcare workers.

Mr Eoin Kennedy came up with the idea of manufacturing the visors by adapting the open-source design. They will go some way towards helping with the availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

120 of the visors were delivered to local healthcare facilities today and demand is said to be high.

The school intends to continue to manufacture these visors and would be more than happy to share the designs with any other school or business that has a laser cutter and wants to help with the effort to combat the spread of Covid-19.

With this in mind, the school would also be very grateful if any businesses or organisations that are in a position to donate the materials needed, would do so to help them make more visors.
