Asthma Society hotline in high demand

537

The Asthma Society of Ireland is asking people who may be phoning its hotline to be patient as the number of calls received over recent days has been unprecedented.

The organisation which has also appealed to people not to stockpile medication, is running a free advice line which will enable callers to speak to a specialist nurse to get practical advice about managing their or their child’s asthma triggers within the home.

The organisation has also set up an email address which people can use to ask the questions that may be troubling them at this time.

That email address is [email protected].

The Asthma and COPD advice line is also available on 1800 44 54 64.

The organisation’s CEO Sarah O’Connor, who is from Tipp, has also appealed to people with asthma or COPD not to stockpile medication, as there is no threat to supply.
