TD calls for more detailed info on Covid-19 cases

Martin Browne, TD (Sinn Fein)

A local TD has urged the health authorities to be more upfront with the public about cases of the coronavirus as they emerge here.

Sinn Fein TD Martin Browne has described as ‘nonsensical’, a decision by the HSE not to name the school that has been closed down due to a case of Covid-19, even though it was named online prior to the official announcement.

Deputy Browne maintains that by being given more information, or ‘full disclosure’, the public will be better able to make decisions to help contain the spread of the virus.

He told Tipp Mid West that while he doesn’t believe the people themselves should be named, more details about the location of the diagnosed person need to be released in the future.
