The Tipperary Town Technology Park is to receive a significant boost following confirmation that €600,000 in funding has been granted for an upgrade of the premises and its technology.

The funding application was made under the Regional Enterprise Fund through which €500,000 be provided, while Tipperary County Council will provide an additional €100,000.

The money will link the Tipperary Technology Park to the ENGINE Innovation Centre in Limerick, which provides solutions for entrepreneurs, start-ups and businesses.

This will enable the Tipperary town premises to give smaller businesses the opportunity to enter the circle of companies that provide services for some of the largest multinationals in the region.

The fund will also be directed towards improving the quality, standard, and number of the existing co-working hot desks at the Tipp Digital Hub, which were initially provided through an initiative involving the Jobs4Tipp group and the County Council.

Welcoming the news, TD Michael Lowry said that the funding announcement rewards the partnership between Jobs4Tipp and the local authority.
