The planned resurfacing of Main St in Tipperary town will not take place next year.
That was according to Cllr Michael Fitzgerald who said that lessons need to be learned from the errors that were made in the course of the Davitt St works that caused ongoing disruption in Tipperary town for much of 2019.
It was initially planned that the resurfacing of Main St would take place throughout 2020, in three stages, including Fr Matthew St.
But speaking to Tipp Mid West, Cllr Michael Fitzgerald said that works are not expected to get underway until 2021.
How that work is organised and carried out, he said, needs to be given careful consideration, given the disruption caused to businesses, motorists and residents as a result of this year’s works.
