Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings which will come into effect from Sunday.

The latest storm to approach Ireland, Storm Atiyah, is due to track between Ireland and Iceland on Sunday generating a swathe of very strong winds across the country.

As a result, counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Kerry, and Limerick are being advised that south-westerly winds, later veering north-westerly, will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/h with gusts from 110 to 130km/h.

That Level Orange weather warning will take effect from Sunday at 9 am until Monday at 6 am.

Co Tipperary is included in Status Yellow weather warning which also applies to Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Cork, and Waterford. It predicts that winds could reach mean speeds of 50 to 60 km/h with gusts of up to 100 km/h.

That warning is valid from Sunday at 3 pm until to Monday at 6 am.
