Record overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick

The number of people waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick has hit a level never before seen in an Irish hospital in a single day.

Today’s INMO Trolley Watch List has revealed that there were 85 people waiting for beds at the Limerick hospital today.

The hospital set the previous record of 82 in October, but that number was surpassed today.

In total, 631 people were without beds at the country’s hospitals this morning. The number waiting at South Tipperary General Hospital was 24, bringing the total number of people without a bed at hospitals serving Co Tipperary today to 109.
