TD Jackie Cahill, who is the Vice-Chair of the Oireachtas Agriculture Committee, has said that if a number of the issues that are involved in the current beef crisis are addressed, then maybe the conditions could be met that would enable all sides to sit down and discuss the key sticking point of pricing.

The Oireachtas Agriculture Committee is due to meet tomorrow to discuss the ongoing dispute.

Speaking to Tipp Mid West this morning, Deputy Cahill said that while he intends to ensure the price paid to farmers is addressed, he will also call for discussion on the disputed 30-month rule, the four-movement rule, and the 70-day residency requirement.
