Water Conservation Measures in Tipp Extended

515

Irish Water has extended the hosepipe ban in many areas, including counties Tipperary and Limerick until the end of September.

According to the utility company, rain this month has seen some increase in river flow and lake levels in parts of the midlands and the north of the country.

Because of this Irish Water has been able to scale back emergency levels in some parts of those regions. But in the south of the country water levels remain critical, especially in counties Limerick, Cork and parts of Kerry.

In Limerick, tankering and/or restrictions are required on some supplies serving Oola, Pallasgreen, Doon, Hospital, Kilfinnane and Knocklong.

As a result of the ongoing shortage in this part of the country, the board of Irish Water has determined that the Water Conservation Order will remain in place for counties Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford, Kilkenny, Offaly Louth, Meath, Westmeath, Laois, Cork, Kerry, Wexford and Carlow until Sunday, 30 September. The ban also continues in the Greater Dublin area as well.
