Two men are being detained at Thurles Garda Station after being arrested by gardai targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Tipperary Division.
Yesterday evening, at 8.20pm, gardai stopped and searched a vehicle near Abbeyleix in Co Laois. The search was carried out as part of an ongoing garda operation.
During the search, a quantity of suspected cocaine valued at €50,000 was discovered.
Two men, in their 30s and 40s, were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Thurles Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.
