Man Charged In Bobby Ryan Murder Case

A 49 year-old man has appeared in court today charged in connection with the murder of Bobby Ryan.

Evidence of the charge and caution of Pat Quirke, with an address a Breanshamore, Co Tipperary was given at Tipperary District Court just after 10.30 this morning.

Mr Quirke was remanded in custody to appear before Thurles District Court on March 28th.

Bobby Ryan, a father of two, was reported missing on June 3rd, 2011, nearly six years ago.  Despite intensive search efforts, it was not until April 30th, 2013 when his remains were found in a disused concrete tank at a farm in Fawnagown.

After submitting a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions, gardai in Tipperary town received instructions back from the DPP and yesterday they arrested Mr Quirke who has now been charged with the murder of Mr Ryan in and around the date of his disappearance, June 3rd, 2011.
