Tipperary/Cashel Municipal District councillors have agreed to call in representatives of the former NRA, Transport Infrastructure Ireland after a recent delegation was told that funding will not be available next year to resurface Tipperary town’s Main St.
The matter came under discussion after the Municipal Chairperson Mary Hannah Hourigan updated her colleagues on the recent trip to Dublin.
In telling councillors the news, Cllr. Hourigan said that she too was very disappointed in the response.
Also commenting, Cllr Denis Leahy said that the “they will need to go to Specsavers’ if they think that the street, which he described as ‘disintegrating’, was not in need this level of attention.
He proposed that the council call representatives of Transport Infrastructure Ireland meet with them on the matter. That proposal was passed.
