A major landmark in Cashel is due go on the market next week.
The Cashel Palace Hotel ceased trading just before Christmas last year and is now expected to fetch more than €2 million.
Among the many reasons an investor may purchase the property is its past, and especially the former guests on its books.The Cashel Palace Hotel has attracted guests such as Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy and Ronald Regan to mention a few.
It was built in 1730 and first became a hotel in the 1960s.
At the end of last year 32 people lost their jobs when it closed.
Its sale is expected to make €2.25 million.
