It has been confirmed that the UN Secretary-General will accept the Tipperary Peace Award at a ceremony in Tipperary later this month.
Ban Ki-Moon was chosen to receive the award earlier this year.  According to the Tipperary International Peace Convention, he is being honoured ‘for his leadership in mobilizing the international community to address a series of grave conflicts and major natural disasters’ during his time as UN Secretary-General.

The award ceremony has been arranged for Sunday, May 24th at Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort.
Mr. Ban will deliver an address at the event.
