Tributes paid to the late Labour Party Stalwart John Ryan R.I.P.

Tributes are being paid to the late Labour Party Stalwart John Ryan.

Mr Ryan died yesterday at the age of 86.

He was a former member of North Tipperary County Council and went on to serve in the Senad and in Dail Eireannas a TD to which he was elected in 1973.

He is survived by his wife Ina and three children Gerry, Dina and Paula.

Speaking of Mr Ryan Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore described him as a proud Nenagh man who will be deeply missed.

Junior Minister at the Department of Transport Alan Kelly remembers Mr Ryan as one of the hardest working TDs ever to enter Dail Eireann

Independent TD  Mr Lowry has also included Mr Ryan in his thoughts today remembering him as a good and decent man and as a politician who was outspoken and tenacious in his defence of the entitlements of the under-privilaged.
