Co Tipperary Labour Party has selected 10 people to run in local elections

The Labour Party in Co Tipperary has selected ten people to run in the local elections this year. 

The selected nominees were selected at a recent convention in Thurles.

Contesting seats in the Nenagh are are Fiona Bonfield, Cllr Virginia O’Dowd, Cllr Lalor McGee and Greg Star. 

Cllr John Kennedy and Shane Lee were selected for the Thurles/Templemore district while Mick Byrnes was chosen to contest Tipp/Cashel area.

Cllr Seanie Lonergan was chosen to defend his seat in the Clonmel Cahir area while the Fethard/Carrick on Suir area will see Cllr Michael Cleere and Liam Hayes campaigning for council seats.

Commenting this morning, Minister Alan Kelly said that the party is considering whether or not to select two more candidates from the Clonmel and Carrick on Suir areas
