Rail delays at Limerick Junction

Rail passengers who experienced delays as a result of a signal malfunction yesterday are entitled to a refund, a spokesperson for Irish Rail said today.

Yesterday, passengers on a number of routes experienced delays of up to 175 minutes after signalling equipment at Limerick Junction was damaged during a fire.

An investigation into the cause of the fire at Limerick Junction is currently underway.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail, Jane Creegan, told Tipperary Mid West Radio today said that she understands how many passengers were angry at the delays experienced yesterday and that as such, those who were inconvenienced as a result of the incident are now entitled to apply for a refund.
