The future of St. Patrick’s Hospital in Cashel is safe according to Fine Gael TD, Tom Hayes.
The HSE recently revealed that it proposes to transfer a rehabilitation unit and respite beds from St. Patrick’s to Our Lady’s hospital.
This prompted concerns that the downgrading of these services at St. Patrick’s could indicate the future closure of the hospital.
However speaking to Tipperary Mid West Radio, Deputy Hayes said that he had received an assurance in the Dail that St Patrick’s Hospital is secure, as are the jobs there.
However, he also said that the possibility of some services being changed still exists.
