South Tipperary Fine Gael TD, Tom Hayes, has today (9th July) announced an investment of €16.7m in the construction of Water Treatment Plants in Burncourt and Fethard, Co. Tipperary.
This follows the Minister for the Environment Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan T.D. giving approval to South Tipperary County Council to invite tenders for the construction of Water Treatment Plants.
South Tipperary County Council is now to seek tenders for the new treatment plants, pumping stations and associated ancilliary works in both areas.
Improvements to the local water distribution networks will also be carried out.
