The future of Tipperary town’s Cluain Arann welfare home is secure.

There had been concerns over the future of the unit ever since it came to light that the unit had been included in a list of nursing homes being considered for closure.

However, speaking on Tipperary Mid West Radio this morning, Fine Gael Deputy Tom Hayes announced that  in the Regional Service Plan for 2012, being announced today, the news for Cluain Arann and other units in South Tipperary was good.

The futures of Cluain Arann in Tipperary town, St Patrick’s in Cashel and St Anthony’s in Clonmel are all secure, Deputy Hayes confirmed.
