North Tipperary County Council flagged

A County Tipperary Councillor has failed to get a motion passed in which he called for the EU Flag to be taken down outside the offices of North Tipperary County Council.

At Monday’s (Jan 16th)  meeting of the Council Cllr Billy Clancy (Ind.) asked members to support him in seeking the flag to be taken down to ensure the political neutrality of the local Authority.

However, his motion was defeated.

Speaking to Tipperary Mid West Radio Tues morning (17th) Cllr. Clancy said that in his view, displaying the EU Flag outside the Council Offices gives undue representation to those who support the EU as opposed to those who don’t.
