A report received by Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan (FG) has stated that there will be initial costs to merge North and South Tipperary local authorities before any cost savings are realised.
The preliminary report on the move has warned that significant convergence costs will be incurred in order to integrate the authorities. The merger is expected to be completed in mid 2014 and Nenagh and Clonmel will remain as the two key urban business areas.
