The Minister with resonsibility for the Office of Public Works Brian Hayes is being urged to ensure continued funding is allocated for conservation works at Nenagh Castle.
So far, masonry conservation works are nearly complete, alongside protective railing and the installation of timber floors and other items.
However, as the project is funded through the National Development Plan, the funding is allocated on an annual basis and the Minister is therefore yet to outline what funding will be available next year.
In an effort to keep the Minister aware of the necessity for the funding to continue, North Tipperary TD Noel Coonan is pushing for works on Nenagh Castle to be prioritised.
