Plans by the HSE to cut the number of days in which x-rays can be performed at Our Lady's Hospital in Cashel could be reversed a local councillor has said.
The HSE recently announced that it proposes to cut the availability of x-ray procedures at the minor injuries unit from five days a week down to two.
Councillor Sean McCarthy (FF) who is a doctor himself, lodged an objection to the decision with the local operations manager of the HSE saying it would result in the closure of the unit. He said the response he recieved gives him some hope the full x-ray service will be maintained.
