The HSE is being is being asked to explain why it withdrew hospital transport services from two men recently.
Cllr Martin Browne has drawn attention to the cases of the two men - one a double amputee and the other a 78 year old man with walking issues- who both had to pay to get them to hospital after the HSe denied them the service it provided them previously.
Mr Browne maintains that the HSE is unfairly excluding the men from the scheme by saying that hey are sufficiently mobile to arrange their own transport.
He has asked the HSE for a thorough explanation for its reasons for withdrawing the serv ice from the men.
He has also criticised the government for allowing such a situation to arise.
