Voting has been taking place across the country in the Local European and two by elections today In total the various constituencies across the country are tasked with electing 949 councillors, 11 MEPs and two TDs. The elections for Tipperary are particularly significant in so far as they determine the composition of the new amalgamated Tipperary County Council When it come sto turnout in tipperary Town, the rate as of 12pm was 14%. The lowest turnout at a particular booth was 6%at the same time while another booth showing the highest lturnout so far recorded a voting level of 19%. However by 3pm the overall figure had increased to 20%, with one booth noting a voting level of 30% Voting stations will remain open untill 10o'c tonight. |
