Garda Appeal For Witnesses to Bansha Crash

Gardai in Tipperary town are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a road traffic collision near Bansha that claimed the lives of two people.

The head-on collision occured on the Cahir road just outside Bansha at 10.40pm on Monday night.

Two people were killed, 28 year-old Mary Enright from Dungarvan and 17 year-old Robert Stoker from Monkstown in Co Cork.

Two passengers who were travelling in Mrs Enright's car were injured and taken to hospital where they still remain.

Mrs Enright was due to give birth in a matter of weeks, while Robert Stoker was a fifth year student at the Presentation College in Cork city.

Gardai are still trying to establish the cause of the accident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward or contact them at Tipperary town Garda station on 062 80670.

Tipperary Construction Companies

Tipperary construction companies will have the opportunity to discuss the state of the industry locally and how the economic downturn is continuing to affect them at a  special briefing meeing  with the Construction Industry Federation (CIF).

Housing Capital Allocation

South Tipperary Local Authorities are to recieve over €4.3 million from the housing capital allocation. The allocation will support investment under the national regeneration programme works, to improve the standard and energy efficiency of the national social housing stock as well as meeting commitments under existing contracts for delivering social and voluntary houses.
