Merger of Tipperary County Councils

Details have been released concerning the reorganisation of the two Tipperary County Councils to facilitate the eventual merger of both Local Authorities.

Two principal Local Authority centres will be based in Clonmel and Nenagh where frontline services will be available.

It is being reported today that Independant TD Michael Lowry could soon be due a big pay-day after a horse he bred secured a juvenile title at the Curragh.

South Tipperary Fine Gael TD, Tom Hayes, has today (9th July) announced an investment of €16.7m in the construction of Water Treatment Plants in Burncourt and Fethard, Co. Tipperary.

Former President honoured in Tipperary

The former president of Ireland Mary McAleese and her husband Senator Martin McAleese were honoured twice in Tipperary yesterday when they were presented with the Tipperary International Peace Award and a civic reception from Tipperary Town Council.
