Two new classes for Tipp schools

Two Tipperary schools are to recieve two new classes this September under a programme announced by National Council for Special Education (NCSE).

Irishman to be honoured

An Irishman who died fighting with the Americans on the Western Front in France 94 years ago is to be honoured by US veterns this weekend.

Edmond Brunnock who was born in Araglin in 1889

He enlisted in the US army and was dispatched to France during the First World War.

He was one of a large number of soldiers from his division who died from injuries recieved in a fierce battle at Boureuilles in February 1918.

He was 29.

Untill 1922 his body lay in a mass grave, but was later disinterred and reburied in Shanrahan Cemetery in Clogheen

This Sat a special US army grave marker will be erected alongside his headstone
