Staff from the Environment section of North Tipperary County Council are to visit St Kevin's graveyard in Littleton tomorrow.

The graveyard is currently under an estimated two feet of water following the recent severe weather.

It has been known for some time that the graveyard is prone to flooding but a deluge of water to such a scale as is currently been witnessed has not been seen before.

Local residents have been calling for the council to take action and today at a meeting council officials confirmed that they will travel to the graveyard tomorrow to access the situation.

Only at that stage, they say, will they be able to determine what needs to be done and what resources are available to address the problem.
