Tipp Chamber of Commerce appeal for volunteers for St Patrick's Day Festival

Tipperary town’s chamber of commerce is on the hunt for volunteers to help with the 2015 St Patrick’s Day Festival.
The chamber is responsible for organising this year’s event.
The parade will get going from the traditional starting point of The Plan and will continue on to Main St where the crowds will be waiting and the viewing stand will be located.

TD Tom Hayes will travel to Australia for St Patrick's Day

Co Tipperary TD Tom Hayes will be travelling to Australia for this year’s St Patrick’s Day.
Each year government ministers leave the country for festive period and this year, 14 of the 15 cabinet minsters will be heading off.

1,700 Scheduled Surgical Procedures cancelled in month of January

It has emerged that in the month of January 1,700 surgical procedures were cancelled at Irish hospitals.

Large numbers on trolleys in both Clonmel and Limerick

Senior officials at the UL group of hospitals, which includes Nenagh General have enacted an escalation plan to deal with extra patients waiting on trolleys.

There are 55 people waiting for a bed in Dooradoyle, the highest figure in the county while at South Tipp general in clonmel 23 patients are on trolleys. 

An escalation plan has been implemented which involves moving patients from Dooradoyle to Nenagh General and cancelling non urgent, elective surgery.

Tipperary Garda who was shot while in the US back home.

Brian Hanrahan a  garda from Killenaule but stationed in Newcastle West Co Limerick is back home after being shot while on holidays in New Orleans during an armed robbery.

Brian has appealed for privacy while he recovers.

In his statement Brian Hanrahan said he would like to thank all the staff of LSU Hospital in New Orleans and the Irish Community both at home and abroad for the many kind messages of support.
