Figures released this afternoon by the Department of the Enviroment show that well over half of households in North and South Tipperary have paid  the septic tank charge.

In North Tipperary 7,897 households have paid , amounting to total of 64% compliance

A total of 8,651 have paid up in South Tipperary, bring the level of compliance to 60%.

Nationally the percentage of households that have now paid the charge stands at just over 60%.
