Tipperary hurling captain Eoin Kelly and Dublin footballer Bernard Brogan have been invited to the White House for the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

The two GAA players will join the dignitaries headed by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.  Traditionally the Taoiseach presents the American President with a bowl of Irish Shamrock.

It's the first time that GAA players have been represented in the Irish delegation.

Gaa.ie states that  "The invites come in recognition of excellent individual contributions to the players’ respective 2010 Championship campaigns."
