The Department of Education has approved funding for the construction of an additional mainstream classroom for St Michael’s School in Holycross.
Enrolment at the school currently stands at 240 pupils, and according the school’s principal, Ger Corbett, the new build will provide a classroom for St Michael’s 9th classroom teacher.
He also paid tribute to the school community who he said worked very hard to provide the facilities the school now has to offer.
Local TD Michael Lowry, meanwhile, has noted how the expansion of the school is a result of the great demand there is for enrolment there due to its high reputation.
