Despite existing traffic calming measures on the N24 in Monard, local residents say traffic continues to pass through the village at high speed.
Councillor Michael Fitzgerald raised the issue at this month's meeting of the Tipperary - Cashel Municipal District.
He wants an electronic sign put in place to inform motorists of their speed, saying they are an effective deterrent.
The Fine Gael representative feels such units should be rolled out in other towns and villages across the county.
