Rates bill on vacant properties.

Independant TD Mattie McGrath has said that a government proposal to apply a 50% rates bill on vacant properties will significantly stall local economic recovery in many of the country's towns and villages

The Independant  TD has said that he has been contacted by a number of business and property owners concerned by the proposal.

He is to contact the Commissioner of Valuation to investigate the proposal and the implications it will have.
